As I fiddle around with world geography on Google Earth, a common practice of my father and me, I am constantly drawn to the South Pacific. The Islands of the South Pacific are incredibly far away from anything. This may not sound like much of an epiphany, but in a world that is always "shrinking" it is becoming harder to find a place that is truly isolated. My wife and I applied for The Amazing Race this month and I hope to have a chance to go to such an remote and foreign place. I was excited to Survivor go to the Cook Islands and we just saw "Castaway" last week television (not to mention the other Tom Hanks South Pacific movie: Joe vs the Volcano. That last movie is a shout out to my homie, Kevin Boske.
